I set my new 2019 shield up the other day with my 650. I actually have had a Harmony Hub for a few years but it’s never been terribly responsive for me. The Flirc isn’t perfect, and I ended up using a USB cable extender to move it next to the front of my shield. I ended up setting up two devices in the MyHarmony software-one was my old shield settings, which does all the heavy lifting and another shield device that has “sleep” as one of its only three controls (this is NOT the new shield remote settings, which I am not using). Then I went into the activity settings and added “sleep” from the second device as one of the shutdown actions.

I got tired of unplugging the flirc and updating it as well as the harmony remote in their ancient logitech remote software on my computer whenever I changed anything. It required a different login for each remote managed if I remember correctly. The hub is an app on my phone that is easy to update.

I expected to see the pro listed in the Activity's device listing not the Console.As an added bonus it works with google assistant and all my home automation stuff. Note: I did have the Nvidia Game Console defined but it was deleted prior to adding the new pro option.

Not sure why this was done since the device's remote has a single power on/off button indicating a power toggle option was being used by the remote/device.Īdding the device is showing the correct label (Nvidia Shield TV Pro) but the device listing when defining an Activity is showing the older Nvidia Game Console label. I do agree that the FLRIC should be updated with power button(s) but that is a task for the author of the FLRIC not Logitech. All the FLRIC does is to capture the IR commands from the Harmony and convert them to something the Shield can use. Sorry Charles, but I do not agree that the FLRIC is a 'device'. The power on option being used as a MENU option functions the same way a Home or Menu command does.

The Harmony will now turn on the device when the shield activity is started and turn off when the activity is left. Map the power off screen option to the power button of the 'Media' controller. Note: Setting the power option to a two button solution is needed due to the issues trying to use the toggle power command that the single power button needs but does not seem to currently work.
